Pupcakes for a Poodle

Roxie is my little sidekick, so every year just like humans I like to give her, "her special day"
Today Roxie doodle, Roxikins, Roxie poods, Roxstar is 3 years old! I can't believe I have had her for 3 years, time has gone so fast.
She's helped me through so much, more than anyone could ever know. Dogs really are a human's best friend.
This year I decided to make her Pupcakes, Cupcakes but for dogs. When searching through the internet I found this recipe, tweaked a few things and made sure her favourite treats were packed in.

Pupcake recipe

First- preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius
Then add...
1 cup plain flour
1/4 porridge oats
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup shredded carrot
1/2 shredded apple
1/2 peanut butter
1 medium banana
1 large egg
1/4 cup honey (plus a little extra)
1/3 cup vegetable oil
tub of cream cheese
more peanut butter

Once all measured pop all the ingredients into a bowl and mix. With the recipe I added an apple, extra peanut butter and honey as I know Roxie has a sweet tooth and she doesn't particularly like carrot or banana.
After all the ingredients are mixed pop them in your muffin cases and into the oven, my oven took 20 minutes but start checking from 15 minutes onwards (No need to worry about your cakes rising).

Whilst your Pupcakes are in the oven it's time to sort out your frosting, for this I used a plastic sandwich bag. Spoon all your cream cheese right to the bottom, layering peanut butter as you go, then cut a small hole at the bottom of the bag and tadahhh.... your very own disposable piping bag.
Leave your pupcakes to completely cool before you start frosting otherwise you'll have soggy frosting.

I chose to decorate the tops of Roxie's pupcakes with dog version Terry's chocolate orange as chocolate is her ultimate favourite.

For a Dog who is particularly fussy I couldn't believe how fast she scoffed these, even Xena the cat wanted in on the tasting session. When this post goes up we will be having a birthday walk in the forest before tucking into another pupcake with poodle pals.
I hope you liked this recipe, the basis of this comes from Zoella's, try and recreate it and change ingredients to suit your best pals.

Happy Birthday Roxie Doodle.
