Newyork Fashion Week Highlights

New York Fashion week was the first scheduled runway to kick off from the 5th to the 13th of September.
Here is my highlights from this spring summer 2013 collection.

Jason Wu consistency in his collections is what makes me come back to him. With his body suits, high waisted shorts and prim collared blouses. This spring summer 2013 he has done it again sticking to his chosen silhouettes, except this collection he brought lace and leather together giving us the sense of dominatrix.
His collection consists of bandeau tops, apron dresses, leather biker jackets and leather flowing skirts with meshed swathes of laces.
Below are some of my favourite pieces of his spring summer 2013 collection.  I will post later, some of the high street versions so everyone can have a wardrobe just like this one.

Proenza Schouler collection was all about dresses and skirts not one pair of pants to be found on the catwalk. This catwalk was all about reptile details with the opening piece being a chartreuse vest that had a python collar and inserts teamed with a leather skirt. They merged jersey to leather and pattern to panels. The collection had a hint of orientalism but kept a youthful and energetic feel to it, which is what the duo’s brand is all about and what else could we ask for.

Victoria Beckham is a Fashion Designer in her own right and so should she be. Every collection gets more detailed and effortless. Sleeveless shifts in various colours seemed to be the main focus in this collection, With Victoria’s usual figure hugging shapes it’s nice to see a change. Her opening white to purple ombre shift dress started off a playful feminine feel to her collection that was consistent throughout the show, over the top floral prints followed along with guipure lace, Her whole collection was dresses that never reached knee length.
Victoria Beckham was my highlight of New York Fashion week; no matter how much I Loved the Spice Girls and still do Posh Spice was destined for designing not singing.

However looking back on previous London Fashion week shows it seems to me that Newyork shows are just abit last year.
Suppose thats not a bad thing for us Londoners.
